Choreographer Kenneth Greve and composer Tuomas Kantelinen have created a fairy-tale world that touches on the biography of H.C. Andersen (1805–1875). Andersen attended ballet school himself and admired the sensitivity and grace of dancers but could never create a career as a dancer himself due to a physical disability.
Whisking the audience into a different world, Kenneth Greve’s hit production with the Finnish National Ballet is both an enthralling spectacle and a touching story about the pursuit of dreams and the power of love. 3D effects transform the stage into a mesmerising underwater scene. It’s no wonder this ballet has only been performed to full houses.
